Solace Completed and handspun cables
Posted on | February 17, 2007 |
I’ve finished my Solace Stole! And I love it. This is a lovely pattern and works up so nicely in worsted weight yarn. I would have made it a bit bigger but I ran out of yarn and in keeping with my stash reduction resolution I didn’t want to buy any more. It’s still plenty big enough to cuddle up in. I just lightly steamed blocked it.
Stats:
Pattern: Solace Stole
Yarn: Elann.com Peruvian Highland, Dusty Rose color, 12 skeins
Needles: KnitPicks options, US#8 circulars

I’m still spinning the Brown Sheep gray roving, and I’m also knitting my Sensational Shirttail Sweater at the same time. LOL I was a bit worried about how my handspun yarn would knit up for this sweater, but so far it’s looking good. And at 3 ply the cables are popping! This is a picture of the back…

The stole is beautiful, and the cable definition on the sweater looks great! That is an interesting pattern.

I love the way Solace turned out! I’ve got to get started on mine (must pick yarn first). The gray sweater back looks great too. You really got bitten by the spinning bug!

You have another stole done and my kimono is still “resting”. Aren’t you allowed to purchase yarn to finish a project?

Don’t you just love knitting with your handspun? I threw my skeins in a big bin for years before I started knitting with any of it. Now I can’t wait to make something with every single skein I finish! Your grey sweater looks great - looks like your yarn is nice and even and so are the stitches. Good job!!
