A Spinning We Will Go

Well, at long last it’s time for the spinning class I signed up for back in January. Yippee! DH and I will be leaving for Albuquerque, NM tomorrow around noon. It’s a 4 hour drive from here so as things go when you live in the middle of nowhere, not too far at all. Albuquerque also happens to have the nearest yarn shop which offers spinning classes. I’m signed up for “Adventures in Spinning.” It’s an intermediate class (so the description says) that is concentrating on adding new skills to your spinning. We are supposed to learn long draw drafting (that’s good because I can’t seem to figure it out on my own), spinning from the fold (another one I can’t get), hand carding, drum carding and other miscellaneous things. It’s all day Saturday and half a day Sunday. I called the shop yesterday to be sure they hadn’t cancelled the class and it’s still on, but with only 5 students. Well, I say that’s great! More personal attention from the instructor. DH is going along and will haunt the flea market while I’m spinning. AND we get to eat at our favorite restaurant, The Melting Pot. Yummy, delicious fondu! So I’ll see ya’ll Monday and let you know how much I learn.

that sounds like so much fun. Have a blast and shop for me too
I really need a LYS (hubby says no, but he’d see my way)

Sounds like fun! Enjoy, and I can’t wait to see what you learn. I know I’m about to pop from excitement over my first spinning class but it doesn’t start til Wednesday!
