Crazy Toes & Heels

Posted on | April 17, 2006 |

I just received my copy of Queen Kahuna’s book, Crazy Toes & Heels. AND my first pair of Addi Turbo circulars. Wow, what a great knitting weekend I had. I’ve been knitting socks on DPNs, but it was really making my hands and knuckles hurt a lot. I have a bit of arthritis in my hands. Anyway, I started on QK’s toe up sock, 2 socks on 2 circulars. The book is great. Wonderful illustrations and the instructions are very clear. Even a novice sock knitter like myself had no problems. I’ve already turned the heel and will be starting on the leg portion tonight. I’m knitting some toddler socks for CIC and thought that would be a good, small project to start with. I’m now totally sold on the 2 socks on 2 circulars. And when I’m finished the pair will be complete!! I’ll take some pictures when this pair is done and post ‘em for ya’ll to take a look at.

    Sherie,
Finally, someone who speaks my language! While I never made socks on dpns, I did make mittens and hats and legwarmers on them. UGH! I love my CT & H book, and hardly had to read a thing before combining her basic cuff-down instructions with a free pattern I found online plus Priscilla Wild’s Short-Row Technique (in the Socknitter group files)and ended up with my first pair of socks that fit perfectly! I like her double-loop marker system for decreases/increases too. I am only on my 6th - 9th pairs, but am loving this method!
