Llama fiber spun and new fiber stash

Posted on | June 22, 2007 |

My Knitty Spinning Secret Pal gifted me with some llama fiber. It was baby llama in a luscious roving. I’ve finished spinning it now. My first time using llama and all I can say is WOW! It spun up very easily, but did need lots of twist to keep it together. I just spun the singles the way they wanted to be spun and then did a 2 ply yarn. I’ll definitely want to be using this fiber again. There are 110 yards of 13 WPI yarn in this skein, from 2oz of fiber.

And here’s the newest addition to my fiber stash, 4oz of 21.5 Merino. Gorgeous colors, just a bit more purple in RL than the pictures show. This should be a dream to spin. I purchased this from eBay seller — Wool2Dye4.

I have some llama almost this color waiting in my stash. It is a fiber gift that came with my wheel. I just need to get better at my spinning. It came from Split Rock Llama.

You are a constant source of inspiration.
