Spunky Fiber and Funky Yarn
Posted on | June 27, 2007 |
I just recieved the June fiber of the month from Spunky Eclectic. Another winner! This is 4 oz of BFL which is named Tulips. It’s soft and I can’t wait to try it out as I’ve never spun BFL before.
And this is my first attempt at “designer” yarn. LOL I spun 4 oz of Brown Sheep mill end fiber equally onto two bobbins. Then as I was plying those singes together I inserted some mohair locks. This is a technique I learned in the spinning class I took a few months ago. It’s thick/thin/smooth/bumpy. AND it’s a bit overspun too. But I’m pretty happy with it and am interested to see how it knits up. There are 150 yards, WPI is about 10.

BFL is a joy to spin! The colors do look just like red tulips! I really like the yarn with the mohair locks. The purple looks really pretty with the white.
