Well, I’ve hit the jackpot with my fiber accessories this week. I’ve ordered the drum carder and the jumbo flyer for my wheel was shipped today. Wow!

AND, I got a skein winder too! I have a friend whose DH is quite the carpenter. I’ve been wanting a skein winder, but couldn’t find one where the price was right and that was as adjustable as I wanted it to be. So I commissioned him to make one for me. He worked really hard and came up with a perfect winder. This is pretty remarkable as he’s never seen or heard of a skein winder before and just had to look at pictures and listen to my descriptions.

I had him leave it unfinished, I can do that much myself. It will wind a 1 yard, 1.5 yard, 2 yard, and 2.5 yard skein. Even has a turning handle! He might be interested in making a few more. If anyone is interested, let me know and I’ll ask him for details and costs. It is pretty heavy, so that will influence the postage.
