Funky Neon! My first funky yarn. I bought two packages of the “ingredients” for this yarn at The Taos Sunflower Shop when I was in Taos, NM last October. It was prepared by Robin of Pagewood Farms. I spun up the first package last night on my Sonata with the jumbo flyer. I used some cotton crochet thread as the core and the let the fiber just grab onto that. Then I plyed with polyester machine embroidery thread. It’s wild! Funky, bumpy, skinny, and fat with lots of interesting textures and sparkles in it. I have 110 yards and I think I’ll knit up a garter stitch scarf with this. I have one more bag of this fiber mix and I’m going to try to spin just a bit thicker with it. Some of this yarn is really a bit skinny, but you never know - it may knit up just right!
