Log Cabin

I think I’ve got it! After an inordinate amount of time reading and figuring and re-figuring and re-re-figuring I think I’ve finally made sense of how to weave a log cabin pattern on my rigid heddle loom! I have the warp on and have dong a few inches. It is actually looking like it is supposed to! The warp and weft yarns are some acrylic knitting yarns from my stash, TLC Heathers I think.
Now take a look at the edge on the right. This is what happens when you wind onto the back beam and the paper is not wide enough. I had just a few warp ends which “fell” off the paper divider on the back beam. I never even considered that this would make a difference, but it certainly does. I’ve finagled them back onto the paper so I’m hoping from here on out the right edge will look a bit better.

Looks great! Did you use two heddles, or…? I have had that annoying thing too where the warp fell off the paper too- UGH. I ended up having to stuff something under those warp ends to fix the tension. Since it was right at the selvedge it was NOT GOOD. In the end it was ok though, thank goodness.
Sherie, that’s fabulous! You must share details of how you accomplished it. Pickup sticks? I warped the big loom at the beginning of the week, and started weaving the sampler in the Deb Chandler 4 harness video last night - LOVE.
That is beautiful! I love the pattern and the colors. I’m really impressed by your skill.
