Low Twist Singles
Posted on | June 20, 2008 |
Here is the second 4 oz of my March Spunky Eclectic Fiber club Merino. Mud Season is the name of the colorway. This batch I spun up as low twist singles, aiming for a Malabrigo-esque type yarn. I think it came out pretty close. It is slightly thick/thin, but overall right around 11 WPI (I was aiming for 10). 366 yards, singles. I really like singles yarn to show off the colors of hand-dyed roving. I did ruff up the yarn when I was setting the twist - fulling it just a bit. I’m paranoid about the singles drifting apart!

Great job on the singles! I’ve been afraid to try for fear mine would drift apart. Those are lovely colors–don’t seem to go with the name of the fiber.

Looks great and no the name really doesn’t go with the colors. I’ll have to try spinning singles.
