Deep Fried Veggies

Yep, that’s the name of the fiber I’ve just finished spinning. The batt was purchased from Copper Pot Woolies. 2/3 Merino and 1/3 Colonial wool. I took the batt and made mini rolags first. Then spun on a drop spindle and plyed on the wheel. This is my first real skein of spindle spun yarn and I’m totally hooked. Some might consider it cheating to ply on the wheel, but there was no way I was going to ply that much on a spindle!!

It’s so so gorgeous! I do NOT think it’s cheating to ply on a wheel. A tool is a tool is a tool.

Frankly, I lost interest in spindling precisely because plying was such a hassle. I think plying on the wheel is a great idea. The colors in that yarn are beautiful!
