Cashmere!

Posted on | October 11, 2008 |

I bought 2 oz of luscious cashmere top last year at the Taos Wool Festival. It’s been marinating in my stash for a year and I finally decided to give it a whirl. The staple length is very short, but it really wasn’t very hard to spin at all. I used my 0.65 oz Golding spindle for the singles and then plyed on my wheel. It’s soft and lovely!! I will definitely be looking for more cashmere to spin in the future. I have 344 yards of 2 ply, 24 WPI yarn.

Lace, lace, lace! This will be so gorgeous knitted up!

Cashmere wasn’t as bad as you thought - isn’t that always the way? We put off spinning something delicious because we think it will be hard or “beyond” our skills, but when we finally give it a try, we find that the impossible has become possible. :)
