A Galaxy of Stars!

Posted on | December 21, 2008 |

They may not be the sparkly kind, but each of these skeins is a star to me! This is the Galaxy Sampler by Spunky Eclectic in BFL. Ten colorways, each 1 oz. I’ve been spinning and spinning and spinning on these. The singles were done on a drop spindle and then they were all plyed on a wheel. The average for the ten skeins is 110 yards, 2 ply, 15 WPI. I plan a nice warm shawl for myself with this yarn. I’ll do either the Feather and Fan Comfort Shawl (ravelry link) or the Old Shale Lace Triangle Shawl (ravelry link).

Colorways from top to bottom: Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Mercury, Uranus, Jupiter, Earth, Solar Flare, Neptune, Venus

That will indeed make a beautiful shawl!

Oh, those are lovely! I like the Old Shale pattern a smidge better, but then it won’t be my shawl - dang it :) Can’t wait to see it all done.

I love those little skeins! Great consistency - not always easy to get when spindle-spinning. Maybe I’ll break out my sampler soon and get busy. :)
