Charkha!
Posted on | April 4, 2009 |
One more lovely spinning tool to add to the collection. I was enabled by some of my lovely Spunky Friends over at the Ravelry forums and I ordered a Bosworth Book Charkha. There were a few left in stock and I received mine in record time. Let me just say, the charkha is an amazing piece of workmanship - Jonathan Bosworth is a master! I’ve just filled up my first spindle with some cotton sliver I had. It’s totally fun, but is taking me just a bit to get used to. I’ve never been too great with long draw, but I’m getting better by the minute! My plan is to do a three ply yarn and see how it comes out. I also have some samples of down fibers that I want to try out on the charkha. Now on to the pictures!

I want to see video. I’ve always thought this must be like patting your head and rubbing your tummy. Can you prep your own fiber for this. Goodness knows, you should have local sources!
