Silk Spindles

Lovely silk! Isn’t it the epitome of luxury? I have some tussah silk top that I’ve been spindling and it’s so wonderful. I like the feel of the fiber as it slides through my fingers and the way it looks all wound into a neat cop on the spindle. I use these as my take along spinning projects and also as my spinning for small snatches of time.
On the left is handpainted tussah silk by ELL, the spindle is a little Golding. An Ethan Jakob spindle is on the right with his treat of silk purchased from Susan’s Kitchen. If you haven’t tried spindling silk, run out and try it immediately. You won’t be sorry!

The fiber looks wonderful-I spun silk quite a while ago and need to try it again-thanks for the nudge! The spindles are beautiful, too!
