Annis Shawl
Posted on | August 8, 2010 |
Over on Ravelry a group I belong to has been doing a KAL. I joined in and knit the shawl with my handspun merino/bamboo yarn. The pattern was Annis. It’s a great pattern and I learned to do nupps! I also learned that I don’t like nupps AT ALL! Too labor intensive for my tastes, next time I see nupps I will substitute beads. Other than that, I really enjoyed the knitting. I have been knitting forever and just did my first shawl with nupps….loved the way they look but absolutely hated knitting them, talk about ruining the flow of knitting! Oh, well, live and learn-I like your idea of adding the beads to that spot, will do that if I find another pattern with nupps! This shawl you have made is a beauty!

I agree these nupps are awful labor intensive. I still want to make the Swallowtail. And I think maybe a 5 strand nupp may be easier (smaller, but easier).
