Silk Scarf
Posted on | September 4, 2010 |
Just finished this scarf and I couldn’t wait to blog about it! First I spun some lovely laceweight silk from Enchanted Knoll Farm on my Golding drop spindle. I purposefully spun it to match the grist of 8/2 tencel weaving yarn. I used a golden tencel for the warp and the silk handspun for the weft. The handspun lent subtle stripes to the width of the scarf. It’s lovely, and soft, and drapes like a dream! I used my Voyageur table loom to weave it in a tabby pattern. Hand-twisted fringe on both ends adds a bit of glam.
