Almost Turkey Day!
Just wanted to wish everyone here in the US a happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are all surrounded with family and have a wonderful day. I think our Thanksgiving is going to have to be delayed. My husband caught the cold I had last week and is much sicker than I was. He’s running a temperature now and coughing like crazy. My father is in the hospital with pneumonia and may be discharged today. My daughter has a 4 month old baby and I don’t think he needs to be around either my father or my husband! Geez, we all go forever without being sick, then get sick when a special occasion comes up! But really I guess the day isn’t what is important, just that we get together as a family and spend time with each other. Maybe we’ll do our Thanksgiving a week late.
Knitting content: I’m still plugging along on my two Lacevember projects, although I doubt I’ll complete either one before the end of the month. I did get one lace project completed though, so that’s good. The Kimono shawl is coming along nicely. I finished the 12th repeat (out of 25) last night. My Solace stole is also growing, just completed the 6th repeat on that one last night. I’ll take some progress pictures this weekend and get them posted.
I also started a scarf for DGD#1 last night. I’m using the “My So Called Scarf” pattern. Now don’t cringe, but I’m also using acrylic yarn!! EGADS!! LOL Her mother has specifically asked that I only use yarns which are machine washable as she doesn’t have the time to hand wash/block items. I guess I can understand that and I’d much rather make something that will be used than something DGD’s mom will put away in a drawer because it’s too much trouble to clean. So, I got some really pretty variegated Jiffy Super Chunky yarn. It’s soft and the colors are nice. There is a DGD#2 who will also get a scarf.

Well when you can get together, I hope your turkey day is good as well.
